Turning complex data into useful decisions.

I’m Sarah Ocampo, a hands-on analytics and data product leader who bridges technical delivery, product thinking, and stakeholder needs. I build practical analytical products, lead teams, and turn ambiguous business questions into clear, usable solutions.

What I do

I connect strategy, data, products, and people.

My work spans the full analytics lifecycle: understanding a decision problem, shaping requirements, integrating and validating data, building analytical products, leading delivery, gathering user feedback, and making sure the finished solution is secure, maintainable, and actually useful.

Build

From messy data to working products

I work across dashboards, data pipelines, analytical models, APIs, automation, quality controls, and production operations.

Translate

From ambiguity to a clear path

I turn loosely defined business, operational, or healthcare questions into structured analytical approaches and intuitive decision-support tools.

Lead

From individual work to team outcomes

I coordinate technical teams, mentor contributors, manage risk and quality, and create the documentation and processes that make delivery sustainable.

Selected work

Representative analytics and product work.

Client and product names are intentionally generalized. These examples focus on the problem, my role, and the kind of value created.

Healthcare data product

Turning pricing-transparency data into strategic insight

Led development of the user-facing analytics experience for a healthcare financial-strategy product built on large payer pricing datasets. Helped connect cloud data processing, customized user inputs, and interactive reporting to market analysis, growth strategy, and reimbursement decisions.

Analytics product leadership

Modernizing a complex reporting platform

Led a small multidisciplinary team supporting a modernized analytical platform spanning a database, Power BI reporting, a web application, user testing, access, and recurring enhancements. Focused on usability, technical coordination, stakeholder feedback, and sustainable operations.

Access & gap analysis

Finding healthcare access gaps across geography and populations

Led development of a provider-mapping and analytical approach that combined provider networks, claims, demographics, social determinants of health, and population data to identify access gaps, workforce needs, and potential investment priorities.

Rapid prototyping

Moving from an unclear request to a working prototype

Translated stakeholder priorities into a functional analytics prototype on a tight timeline, added a decision-oriented scoring approach, and created extensive documentation and direct coaching so the client team could understand, implement, and maintain the solution.

I don’t think of analytics as “building a dashboard.” I think about the full product: the decision it needs to support, the data behind it, the people using it, the team building it, and what it takes to keep it reliable after launch.

Leadership

Hands-on, structured, and user-centered.

My leadership style is closest to a player-coach model: I create clarity and accountability, help people solve hard problems, and remain technically credible without needing to own every detail myself.

01

Translate ambiguity into executable work

Break broad goals into clear workstreams, dependencies, owners, and next actions.

02

Build team capability

Mentor developers and analysts, create documentation, and establish primary and backup ownership for critical processes.

03

Manage quality as a system

Use automated QC, repeatable validation, security checks, and user testing rather than relying on last-minute review.

04

Keep the end user in the room

Use prototypes, feedback, usability testing, training, and documentation to make sure the product works in practice.

Toolkit

Technical enough to lead the work.

My strongest technical experience is in business intelligence, analytics engineering, cloud data workflows, and data-product delivery.
